Love them or hate them, there is no getting away from these tour buses in Bath. I guess they are the scourge of every city which is visited by a lot of people. I personally don't like them as they seem to clog up the streets and slow the traffic down considerably. But then I don't begrudge our visitors a guided tour round the city so I suppose they are a fairly necessary evil! As you can see from the photo they don't blend in particularly well with the more sedate surroundings of Bath! I would prefer an old-fashioned double decker which I used to get to work on in London years ago!

So colourful , you can't miss it ;)
ReplyDeleteI can only echo your words. Fortunately Ramsey is no longer the destination it was for tourists and we don't have the dreaded tour bus.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the look of them either, but I must confess that I always take one when travelling to a city I haven't visited before. They are great to get an idea of the city, it's layout and what is worth seeing.
ReplyDeleteSince I never take a double decker, anything would be fine for me, either the old or new one.
ReplyDeleteI must confess we have used one of these buses on a trip to Palma, Majorca and they are a great way of seeing a city.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago.. I use to hang out in a first floor flat in Brock Street and as the old tour buses passed by on their way to Royal Crescent.. some of my not so gracious friends, of that time, would throw water over the poor unsuspecting tourists on the top deck.. tut tut..!
